Over the last decades, healthcare industry stakeholders have gone through cycles of diversification and /or focus. Some established pharmaceutical companies extended their activities to different industries while others focused their positioning. Many organisations would argue that the recipe for success is diversification, while others also would claim, legitimately, the contrary. Hence, from a business development perspective, we acknowledge this tension between both approaches and strive to navigate through them.

Our 2015 annual Winter Conference will examine different scenarios of focus and diversification, and we will explore ways in which the business development community could support these contrasting strategies.
