PLG UK Membership

Membership of the Pharmaceutical Licensing Group (PLG) is open to individuals based in the UK (affiliate non-UK based members are welcome) who are actively engaged in the transfer of intellectual property and/or technology within the healthcare industry. All membership applications are reviewed by the committee once a new membership application is received.

Membership Benefits

  • Subscription to PLG Business Development & Licensing Journal, a peer-reviewed journal issued twice yearly that focuses on current key issues impacting the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries
  • Discounted rates to attend PLG networking meetings, including the Annual Awards Dinner and Spring and Autumn meetings
  • Complimentary attendance at Christmas workshops and drinks reception
  • Discounted rates to attend tailored PLG run training courses (more information)

With the introduction in 2013 of a reduced rate for those employed by academic/non-for-profit organisations, there are now 3 membership options:

Individual Membership

Individuals based in the UK who are actively engaged in the transfer of intellectual property and technology and who are full time salaried employees of pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies operating in the UK,
or
Individuals who are full time salaried employees working in small or medium size enterprises whose business is the discovery or development of molecules or technologies which may ultimately be partnered by pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies. Part of the job description of these individuals should be concerned with licensing, technology transfer or commercial affairs,
or
We also welcome applications from individuals who have been Full Members of PLG and whose status has changed either to consultancy or part time employment.

Fee – £195 per year (membership year runs from 1st July – 30th June)

Academic/Not-for-Profit Membership

This option is open to those employed by academic institutions and not-for-profit organisations that meet the individual membership criteria as above.

Fee – £100 per year

Corporate Membership

Corporate membership allows a company to register an unlimited number of members, although all members must meet the individual membership criteria (as above) and complete an application form.

Fee – £700 per year

Academic/Not-for-Profit Corporate Membership

Corporate membership allows an academic institution or not-for-profit company to register an unlimited number of members, although all members must meet the individual membership criteria (as above) and complete an application form.

Fee – £350 per year

NEW – Micro Company Membership

Micro company membership has been introduced for companies with fewer than 10 employees whose main activity is non-fee earning healthcare R&D, other than consulting. The membership is an individual membership.
