The PLG celebrates its 35th anniversary on 7th February 2019, in conjunction with the PLG 12th Annual Business Development Awards, and we hope that you can join us! The event takes place at 30 Euston Square, London, the home of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

The afternoon begins from 3pm with two presentations, that includes a look at the evolution of the pharmaceutical industry since the formation of the PLG back in 1983. The Pharmaceutical Licensing Group AGM then takes place from 5.30pm. The evening kicks off with a networking reception from 6pm followed by a 3-course seated dinner that ends with the presentation of the PLG Business Development Awards.

We are pleased to welcome Mr Simon Elliott, Senior Managing Director at Evercore as our after-dinner speaker. Simon has worked extensively with clients from across various sub-sectors of the healthcare industry, including pharma, biotech, medtech and healthcare services and has advised on recent transactions including advising Takeda on its acquisition of Ariad Pharmaceuticals for $5.2bn, Shire on its acquisition of Baxalta for $32bn and AstraZeneca on its defence against Pfizer. Simon has previously worked at Deutsche Bank and Lehmam Brothers .

Finishing the evening in style will be the presentation of the PLG Business Development awards 2018. As part of our 35th anniversary celebrations we are introducing a new category to the two existing awards: Deal of the Year. Prizes are available for AstraZeneca Business Development Executive of the Year and the PLG Best Business Development Newcomer of the Year. Nominations for all 3 awards will open on 2nd January 2019, with the closing date for nominations on 25th January 2019.
